The main entrance and parking lot are located at 409 W Riordan Rd., two blocks east of Milton Rd. next to the NAU parking garage.
Riordan Special Tour: Christmas Twilight Tour
Riordan Mansion State Historic Park
December 20, 21, 22, and 23, 2026 5-6 p.m.
The original 1904 light fixtures with Edison style bulbs provide a beautiful glow in the Riordan Mansion for this special evening tour. These special guided tours will focus on the history behind Christmas traditions and guests will have the special treat of seeing the Christmas tree and Billiards room photo transparency windows at night. Weather permitting luminaries will light the path around the grounds.
The tours are recommended for ages twelve and older.
Cost is $22 per person

Festival of Science Lecture: The Merriam Expedition to San Francisco Mountain — Life Zones and the Founding of Ecology
This special lecture for the Flagstaff Festival of Science is presented by historian Roy May. Roy will tell the story of the 1889 C. Hart Merriam expedition, its origin, and importance. Merriam developed the Life Zone concept as a means of describing areas with similar plant and animal communities, which helped shape the founding principles of ecology. Registration required.
