The main entrance and parking lot are located at 409 W Riordan Rd., two blocks east of Milton Rd. next to the NAU parking garage.
Strolling With Santa
Riordan Mansion State Historic Park
Sunday, December 20, 2026 4-6 p.m.
Santa will be strolling the grounds, Visitor Center, and West House museum to visit with children to hear their Christmas wishes. Weather permitting, the grounds will be lit with luminarias.
This event is free to the public thanks to Pioneer Title Agency Hot apple cider will be available in the visitor center. Does not include tour admission to Riordan Mansion.

Festival of Science Lecture: The Merriam Expedition to San Francisco Mountain — Life Zones and the Founding of Ecology
This special lecture for the Flagstaff Festival of Science is presented by historian Roy May. Roy will tell the story of the 1889 C. Hart Merriam expedition, its origin, and importance. Merriam developed the Life Zone concept as a means of describing areas with similar plant and animal communities, which helped shape the founding principles of ecology. Registration required.

The Mansion is festively decorated in turn-of-the-century style with wreaths, garlands, greenery and a towering fir tree trimmed with old-fashioned ornaments. Guided tours during this time include glimpses of folklore and traditions of Christmas, both past and present.
