Fire ban in effect: Propane grills and fire pits will still be allowed.
Hikers will not be allowed to begin the Hunter or Sunset Vista trails after 9 a.m. during heat advisories. Trails must be clear by 12 p.m.
We are currently working to improve the infrastructure at the park. Construction will be ongoing for the next year, with minimal impacts on visitor areas. Please stay clear of construction zones.
The park is experiencing a water shortage. No filling will be allowed at the park.
Star Party at Picacho Peak

Join Picacho Peak State Park for a Star Party with the Tucson Amateur Astronomy Association (TAAA) from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Peer through high-powered telescopes as TAAA's knowledgeable astronomers show you exciting features of the universe.
Bring a blanket and your curiosity! Meet at the Sunset Day Use Area. There is no additional cost to attend this event but standard park entry fees apply, or bring your Arizona State Parks annual pass.
