Fire ban in effect: Propane grills and fire pits will still be allowed.
Hikers will not be allowed to begin the Hunter or Sunset Vista trails after 9 a.m. during heat advisories. Trails must be clear by 12 p.m.
We are currently working to improve the infrastructure at the park. Construction will be ongoing for the next year, with minimal impacts on visitor areas. Please stay clear of construction zones.
The park is experiencing a water shortage. No filling will be allowed at the park.
Shelter Dog Walking Program
Picacho Peak State Park
Nov. 16 | Dec. 28 | Jan. 18 | Feb. 22 | March 29 | April 19 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Pinal County Animal Care and Control will bring 10 shelter dogs available for walking the Nature Loop with you to enjoy nature, meet new people, get some exercise, and get a break from shelter life. Participants will sign a waiver to take the shelter dog for a walk.
Dog food donations (No Ol' Roy or Gravy Train) will also be accepted at this time. Paid park entry is required.
