Kartchner Caverns State Park is currently experiencing a park wide power outage.
Construction along Interstate 10 is impacting travel time to the park. See the project link here.
The park will be operating with limited services during our annual shutdown week from September 14–18. While our campground and hiking trails will remain open to visitors, the Discovery Center and cave tours will be unavailable.
The cafe and the gift shop will be closed until further notice.
Please see our Cave Tours page for information on how to prepare for your visit.
Family Campout at Kartchner Caverns
Kartchner Caverns State Park
September 26-27, 2026
Arizona Family Campout weekends are designed for families with kids who have little or no experience camping. We welcome campers six (6) years of age and older. We will introduce you to fun experiences you can share with your family and inspire you to continue to explore the great outdoors from one of our campgrounds! You will learn how to set up a tent and get an introduction to cooking outside, plus you will get to try some fun activities you can do while camping! No pets allowed.
Experience Arizona from above and below ground at this iconic park! Kartchner Caverns offers scenic views of the Whetstone Mountains and spectacular hiking in the foothills. Registration is required at $90 for a family of 4 and $5 per additional family member. All camping gear and outdoor equipment is provided; just bring food, your sleeping bag, and a sense of adventure! See more info at AZStateParks.com/Family or register at the link below.
