Native Plant Walk
Catalina State Park
Thursday, October 8, 2026 7:30-10:30 a.m.
Recent rains have brought on a burst of fall flowers! We will slowly walk the 2.3-mile Canyon Loop Trail and learn about native plants along the way. As part of this adventure, you'll get to stroll through gorgeous desert native grasslands highlighted with cacti and desert bushes and trees. Descend into Romero Canyon to see a unique riparian array of grasses, trees and various flowering plants. There will be lots to learn and enjoy!
Note: The Canyon Loop Trail has stairs and ankle-deep stream crossings where your feet may get wet! Follow signs for "Trail Head" and meet at the Trailhead Kiosk near the tile mosaic.

Guided Bird Walks at Catalina
Located in the Tucson Sky Islands Important Bird Area, Catalina State Park is home to 150+ species of birds. Experienced birding guides will help you spot and identify beautiful birds as you walk through the park for 3-4 hours.
