Construction to build a wash crossing in the park will begin the week of October 19, 2026. The project is expected to be completed in May 2027. Park activities will not be impacted, but there will be construction vehicles, noise and workers present on the main road into the park. Please stay tuned for updates as work progresses.

Ever wondered how the majestic Santa Catalina Mountains came to be? Join experienced geologist Karen to learn about the fascinating geologic history of the Catalinas. This program begins with an informative geology presentation. After learning some geology, you’ll go for a guided hike to see interesting rock formations. Overall, the program runs for 3-4 hours, so bring water and snacks! Follow signs for “Picnic Areas” and meet at the Picnic Area Ramada.
