Bioblitz 2020

Lost Dutchman State Park

If you enjoy the great outdoors, connecting with nature and learning as much as you can about it, you are a great candidate to participate in Lost Dutchman State Park’s Bioblitz 2020.  What is a Bioblitz? It's a communal effort to record as many species of organisms within a specific area and timeframe as possible.

Participants will team up to inventory the animals and plants at the park to understand and connect with nature. Come armed with a smartphone or tablet loaded with the iNaturalist app (cameras are also welcome). The app is free from the App Store or Google Play. You and your team will observe as many species of plants and animals that you can in your assigned area of the park within the allotted time.

The Bioblitz will be split into two sessions: a morning Session from 8-11 a.m. and evening session from 1-4 p.m. Registration will be limited to 50 participants per session. Call 480-982-4485 to register for the Bioblitz.

Park staff and volunteers will be available to assist with species identification, technical support and information about the park, local ecology, etc.

Meet at the Palo Verde picnic area. Regular day use fee of $10/vehicle (up to four people) will apply.
