Join us for a unique workshop with Oracle State Park’s Artist in Residence, Chloe Foster, a clay artist from Bisbee, Arizona, whose work fuses abstract sculpture with the ancient art of pinch pots. Chloe often sources her own wild clay from the surrounding landscape and fires her pieces in a variety of ways, including using traditional wood pit methods.

During this workshop, Chloe will guide participants through the stages of clay transformation—from raw earth to finished vessel. Weather permitting, Chloe will demonstrate how she builds and tends a traditional pit fire, sharing insights into the craft, science, and spirit behind this technique.

Whether you're a curious beginner or an experienced potter, this is a unique opportunity to connect with a passionate artist dedicated to place-based craft.

Thank you to the Arizona Commission on the Arts and the Arizona Community Foundation for helping make this residency possible!

Free with park admission. No registration required. All ages welcome.

Can’t make it between 9 and 11? No problem—Chloe will still be onsite working with the fire and clay throughout the day, and visitors are welcome to stop by and say hello during the afternoon after the workshop ends.
