Dark Sky Viewing Info

Oracle State Park was designated as an International Dark Sky Park in 2014. This prestigious designation recognizes Oracle State Park as an exceptional place to view and contemplate the wonders of our night sky. Oracle is far enough away from most light pollution sources making the Milky Way visible, along with many other celestial objects.

Although the main part of the park closes to visitors at 4 p.m., those who wish to enjoy the night skies can use the American Avenue Trailhead entrance. Visitors interested in making a reservation will need to call the park before 3 p.m. at (520) 896-2425. Reservations must be done in advance to pay the $12 reservation fee and receive the gate code.

If you are a State Parks annual pass holder, you can use the area to hike during regular park hours; for after-hours access, please see below.

Note: Pass holders must call ahead and pay an after-hour fee of $5. Overnight camping is not allowed at the park at this time.
