CONSTRUCTION ADVISORY: Construction will be taking place in several areas of the park April-October 2025. Be prepared for construction-related traffic and increased noise levels. Any scheduled utility outages will be posted ahead of time. Siphon Draw Trail will be detoured at times to avoid construction areas—signs will direct the detours. Construction hours 5 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Due to safety concerns, walk-in entry and hiker drop-off/pick-up is not permitted.
The dump station and showers are closed to anyone not camping at the park.
Guided Hike: Scorpions of the Sonoran
Lost Dutchman State Park
Friday, Oct. 10 | Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025 Varies by Date

Uncover the not-so-secret nightlife of some of the Sonoran Desert's glowiest residents—scorpions! We'll head out with UV lights in hand to search for these nocturnal critters, under the guidance of Volunteer GeriLynn. Please be prepared for a light hike and wear close-toed shoes. Remember to stay on the trail, stay with the group, and do not touch or pick up any scorpions you find.
Each hike is limited to 15 guests. Ages 10 and up are welcome, and please make sure little ones are accompanied by adults who can ensure their safety. Plan to leave pets at home. Register online via the link below, up to 2 days before the event; no walk-ups. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate late arrivals. Meet at the Palo Verde Ramada; event is weather permitting.
