Shelter Dog Walking with PACC

Catalina State Park

Sunday, Mar. 29   11 a.m. - 2 p.m.

A ranger provides water to a shelter dog at Catalina State Park

Stretch your legs with an adoptable dog from Pima Animal Care Center (PACC)! Staff from PACC will be available to answer your questions, coordinate fosters and adoptions of your new furry friend. Catalina State Park volunteers will be available to show you which trails are dog appropriate and educate everyone on Leave No Trace Principles. Meet at the Trailhead Picnic Area (follow signs for Trail Head).

Important: There are a limited number of dogs (around 8) available to walk on a first-come first- served basis for this special event. Please be patient and prepared to wait 30-minutes to walk dogs. When the pups are worn out, PACC will not allow you to take them out anymore for their health and safety. Park entrance fees still apply.

PACC also offers a day trip and overnight "Pawjama Party" option to the public where you can check out one of hundreds of dogs from the shelter. This could be a great way to guarantee you get to help a shelter dog and meet your new best friend!
