Einstein understood the Hopi view of time as a process, and because of that the Hopi People were able to understand the concept of time as a fourth dimension. Similarly, scientists were intrigued by the thought that the idea of spatio-temporal unity that had taken Einstein seven years to ponder, was readily available to the Hopi. Built twelve hundred years ago, Walpi Village is a living legacy of the sacred teachings of the Hopi Ancestors. "If you drilled from Hopiland through the center of the earth, you would exit in Tibet, another sacred culture situated on a high and dry plateau. Certain words in the Hopi and Tibetan language have reversed meanings – for instance, the Hopi word for day, “Nyma,” is the Tibetan word for night. The word for Moon in Tibetan, “Dawa,” is the Hopi word for “Sun". (Daniel Pinchbeck). This lecture is included with regular park entrance fees.
