10th Annual Night Under the Stars at Alamo Lake State Park on November 19

PHOENIX - On November 19, 2016, Alamo Lake State Park will hold the 10th Annual Night Under the Stars Star Party. The event will start at Noon with a solar viewing and conclude with a Star Viewing from 6 to 10 p.m. (see event schedule below). Nestled in the Bill Williams River Valley away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Alamo Lake offers the perfect dark sky atmosphere to view the stars and skies through astronomer's telescopes. Bring your camping gear and stay the entire weekend! Cabins are also now available!
Alamo Lake State Park near Wenden is one of Arizona's best kept secrets. The stark desert beauty is reflected off the water where cacti dot the mountainous landscape that surround the lake. Noon to 3 pm - Solar Viewing, Mercury & Venus Viewing, Night Sky Network Information Tent
5:15 pm - Observational Astronomy Slide Presentation with JD Maddy, President, Astronomers of Verde Valley
6 to 10 pm - Star Viewing - View the skies through telescopes!
What to Bring - Water, snacks, red light, sweater or jacket, folding chairs and bug repellent.
Entrance Fee - $7 per vehicle (up to four adults) for the night of viewing, instruction and family fun. Camping is available at the park (additional fee).
Located - 38 miles north of Wenden and US 60. Wenden is two hours west of Phoenix north of I-10.
