Pedaling Home: One Woman’s Race Across the Arizona Trail. Author Sarah Ruth Jansen is a philosophy professor, ancient philosophy scholar and bicycling advocate. Her articles have appeared in history of philosophy journals and the Tucson Weekly. After receiving her PhD in philosophy from UCLA and teaching philosophy in Minnesota and Flagstaff, Sarah moved back to her hometown of Tucson, the place that gave her the passions of her life: bicycling, mountains, deserts and philosophy.
The Arizona Trail: Passages in Poetry. Author Steve Chaffee is a retired national park ranger. He enjoys hiking American wildlands and sharing his adventures with others through the power of poetic verse. In 2015, he completed a backpacking journey along the 800 mile long Arizona National Scenic Trail and his poetry inspired by that experience was published in January 2018.
Memorizing Shadows: Inspiration from the Arizona Trail. Author Heidi Blankenship is a native of Utah but currently resides in Southeast Arizona. Poet, wilderness ranger, artist and wanderer, Heidi’s book includes poetry written during her thru-hike of the Arizona Trail.
