First Day Hike at Kartchner Caverns
Kartchner Caverns State Park
January 1, 2019 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
9 a.m. - Guindani Trail
The Guindani Trail (#398), located on the east flank of the Whetstone Mountains in the Coronado National Forest, is 4.2 miles in length (first mile is an easy walk, next 2/3 of trail is moderate difficulty, and the last leg is strenuous). This is a shared-use, non-motorized trail that is well-marked with directional signs.
3 p.m. - Foothill Loop Trail
Come start your New Year off right and hike our Foothills Loop Trail with us. Join rangers on a moderate 2.5 mile guided hike for the first day of the new year and explore the geology and history of the San Pedro River Valley. Make sure to bring water and appropriate clothing.

Have you ever wanted to take photos of the amazing underground world of Kartchner Caverns? Here's your chance! Arizona State Parks and Trails now offers an opportunity to take photos inside the cave every month. Registration for this tour is $125 per person.

We will have live animals, an owl pellet dissection activity, crafts, presentations, and interactive activities of all sorts to showcase and celebrate the beauty of our planet and to foster good stewardship of our natural resources.
