Starting February 2, 2026 through mid-June, 2026 the restroom/shower building in campground A will be closed. A new restroom building will be installed during this timeframe. Portable restrooms will be available throughout the campground, and shower buildings in campground B and group areas will be available. Thank you for your patience as we make these park improvements for you!

Monsoon Magic

Catalina State Park

Saturdays, July 4 - September 26   7:00 - 9:00 a.m.

Catalina State Park staff hold a snake so that a park visitor in a blue baseball cap can touch it. Eight other visitors look on.

Did you know Arizona actually has five seasons? Monsoon Magic is an interactive nature exhibit where you’ll learn about the wildlife and meteorology of the southwest’s rainy season. At this family friendly program you can pet snakes, get your nature questions answered, and even become a certified junior ranger! Follow signs for "Trailhead" and meet at the Trailhead Picnic Area.

A park ranger and two volunteers stand at a nature display on a picnic table set up in the park underneath the trees. The dispaly includes desert animals and one of the volunteers holds a board with a pinned insect display.
