In honor of African American History Month, we are celebrating the history and heritage of the Buffalo Soldiers at Fort Verde State Historic Park. The first Buffalo Soldiers troops serving at Fort Verde were Troop I, 10th Cavalry of the Buffalo Soldiers. The Troop was organized in 1866 and came to Fort Verde in 1885.
There will be living history demonstrations and exhibits at the event as we recognize their contributions to our history.
No additional cost for the event; park admission is required.
