Named for one of Arizona’s greatest statesmen, the lecture will reflect on Governor McFarland’s leadership and its lessons for public service today. Widely regarded as one of the state’s most influential public servants, McFarland is best known as the father of the G.I. Bill. He served in the military and in all three branches of government, including as a U.S. senator, governor of Arizona, and chief justice of the Arizona Supreme Court. His career represents a deep commitment to collaborative leadership and civic engagement.
The keynote address will be delivered by Terry Goddard, former Arizona attorney general and former mayor of Phoenix. With special guest, Mac's grandson, Bill Lewis.
