Presenter Lisa Acker will discuss the ownership history and renovation efforts of the Little Daisy when it was just a concrete shell. She will share memorable highlights from the hotel's renovation and its past life in Jerome, starting in 1995.

Lisa Acker and her late husband Walter, purchased and renovated the Little Daisy Hotel, which was originally built by James Stuart (Rawhide) Douglas in 1918 as a boarding facility for miners of the United Verde Extension.

At its peak, the facility could accommodate up to 100 single men and even included a full medical clinic. The hotel was in a state of significant disrepair when the Ackers acquired it, and they frequently consulted with Jerome State Historic Park for information about the building and its history.
