Volunteer to Support Oracle State Park with a Clean Up Event

October 23, 2024

Calling all outdoor enthusiasts! Arizona State Parks and Trails is seeking volunteers for a community event at Oracle State Park on November 2 from 10-11:30 a.m.

The agency is teaming up with Sonoran Insiders, a collaborative program focused on public lands stewardship, and Flagstaff-based Historic Brewing Company to host this cleanup event. Attendees will help with wildfire mitigation by removing red brome, an invasive grass, within the park, as well as trimming catclaw acacia along trails, painting projects and cleaning the historic Kannally Ranch House, and trash pickup along the roadway, depending on volunteer turnout.

Oracle State Park is a 4,000-acre day-use park with more than 15 miles of trails to explore in the northern foothills of the Catalina Mountains. It is also a wildlife refuge and the first designated International Dark Sky Park in the state. The historic Kannally Ranch House on the park showcases the lives of 1900s ranchers and artisans.

Following the cleanup, volunteers are welcome to enjoy and explore the beautiful park. Each volunteer may enter a raffle for an Appreciate AZ gift box, and those who are 21 years of age and older are welcome to enjoy a complimentary craft beer brewed by Historic Brewing Company featuring Oracle State Park: the Kannally Ranch House Mexican Lager.

Event details, directions to the park, and volunteer registration are available at azstateparks.com/oracle/events/historic-brewing-company-cleanup-event.
