Registration for Fall Events with the Arizona Family Campout Program Now Open!
July 31, 2023
PHOENIX – Arizona State Parks and Trails will be opening registration for fall dates of the award-winning Arizona’s Family Campout on Tuesday. This amazing program offers families of all ages the chance to enjoy outdoor activities during a weekend camping experience – with all equipment provided!
Registration will open on Tuesday, August 1 for dates beginning in September. Events sell out quickly, so early registration is encouraged. The Family Campout Program teaches families the basics of tent camping, as well as various outdoor activities such as kayaking, archery, geocaching, astronomy, and more! Arizona State Parks and Trails provides the equipment for the activities and tent camping in each park. Events also include a service project to teach conservation and preservation to new outdoor recreationists. This is an exciting experience for kids to discover the joy of time spent outside.
Three events this season offer participants the chance to camp in parks that are only open for day use normally, making these events even more exclusive. Wake up in Slide Rock, Tonto Natural Bridge, or Oracle state parks and take in a view most don’t see! Families have raved about the program, saying “I would give the program 8 out of 5 stars" and “This program is so unique and cool.”
Family Campouts offer valuable lessons to any family interested in learning more about the outdoors. For just $90 for a family of four, kids can experience many different fun activities in with all equipment provided, including the tents. Children must be over 5 years old. Families can register for one event per season. The activities vary depending on the park, participant ages, and weather conditions, but all guarantee a fantastic outdoor adventure.
