PHOENIX – As part of its 12th anniversary as a Blue Star Museum, Homolovi State Park will join museums nationwide in the 2022 Blue Star Museums initiative, a program providing free admission to currently-serving U.S. military personnel and their families this summer. The 2022 program began on Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 21, 2022, and will end on Labor Day, Monday, September 5, 2022.
As a thank you to the brave individuals who have proudly served our country, Homolovi State Park in Winslow, Arizona will offer the following discounted day use access. Discounts apply to qualified military and up to three accompanied adults.

Pass is non-transferable and photo ID is required for entrance.
Homolovi State Park is home to the WWII Hopi Code Talker Exhibit, which is open daily from 8:00 a.m. - 4:45 p.m. (Arizona time). The Winslow Homolovi Observatory (W.H.O) star parties are the third Saturday each month, starting at 7:00 p.m. from June – November 2022.
“Museums educate and inspire, cause us to wonder and imagine, dream and remember,” said Dr. Maria Rosario Jackson, chair of the National Endowment for the Arts. “By participating in the Blue Star Museums program, Homolovi State Park is offering military personnel and their families an opportunity to feel connected to the Winslow community and Arizona’s history.”
The free admission program is available for those currently serving in the United States Military—Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy, and Space Force, members of the Reserves, National Guard, U.S. Public Health Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corps, and up to five family members. Qualified members must show a Geneva Convention common access card (CAC), DD Form 1173 ID card (dependent ID), DD Form 1173-1 ID card or the Next Generation Uniformed Services (Real) ID card for entrance into a participating Blue Star Museum.
Blue Star Museums is a partnership between the National Endowment for the Arts and Blue Star Families, in collaboration with the Department of Defense and museums across America.
Find the list of participating museums at arts.gov/bluestarmuseums. Blue Star Museums include children’s museums, art, science, and history museums, zoos, gardens, lighthouses, and more, and hail from all 50 states, District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The current list of participating museums will continue to develop over the summer as organizations are welcome to register to be a Blue Star Museum throughout the summer.
