We're Live: New Reservation System

We are live with the new reservation system!

The new reservation system and call center for Arizona State Parks and Trails has launched! This new system prepares us to provide exemplary service to the more than 3 million visitors to our parks. All blackouts are now lifted.

  • Gift cards are now accepted for purchases or reservations.
  • Annual passes and gift cards are now available for sale.
  • New online or call center reservations are open for up to a year in advance.

New features include:

  • Reservations may be modified or canceled online.
  • Features will include additional site amenities to help you choose the right campsite.
  • Visitors will be able to make reservations at multiple parks on one transaction.
  • Tour reservations for Riordan Mansion State Historic Park will now be available online and through the call center.
  • Reservation fees will be reduced.
  • The cancellation and modification policies for reservations will be updated.
  • Reservations will be available for up to a year in advance, starting at 8 a.m., not midnight.
  • A refundable cleaning deposit will be collected for all cabin stays.

Reservations are once again open for up to a year in advance.

Visitors are able to reserve campsites, cabins, ramadas, group camp sites, cave tours at Kartchner Caverns State Park, tours at Riordan Mansion State Historic Park, and special events by visiting AZStateParks.com or calling 877-MY-PARKS. US eDirect will manage both the reservation system and the reservation call center.

Q&A

Q: Why is Arizona State Parks & Trails changing the reservation site?
A: With 3 million+ park visitors each year, our reservation system needs an upgrade to serve you better! We are moving to a system that will allow us to grow with you and provide more benefits.

Q: Can I use my gift card after the transition?
A: Yes! Existing gift cards will be accepted after July 20, 2022, and sales of new gift cards will resume.

Q: Can I stay in a park during the blackout from July 15-19?
A: If you visit a park and want to spend the night, you will need to inquire about availability in the park office. Walk-ins will be accepted based on availability.

Q: Can I make a reservation for a date BEFORE October 2?
A: Before July 15, 2022, yes! Reservations are first come, first serve, and they’re open for booking through October 2!

Q: Can I make a reservation for AFTER October 2?
A: Not until we go live with our new system by July 20. After we complete the transition at the end of July, reservations for dates up to a year in advance will be open for booking!

Q: What if I already made a reservation for after October 2?
A: Your reservation information will be transferred to the new system. You do not need to do anything!

Q: After Arizona State Parks moves to the reservation system, can I make a reservation for dates farther out?
A: YES! And it will be better than ever. After we migrate to our new reservation site, reservations will be available up to a year in advance. Plus, new reservations will open at 8 a.m., not midnight.

Q: What will I be able to reserve on the new system?
A: You will be able to reserve campsites at our 15 recreation parks, cabins at eight parks, tours at Kartchner Caverns and Riordan Mansion State Historic Park, and events.

Q: Why does Arizona State Parks need to limit future reservations?
A: When data migrates to a new vendor, there is a chance it could get lost or mixed up. By limiting the amount of reservations we have to transition, we will hopefully avoid lost reservations or double-bookings.

Q: What kind of reservations are limited?
A: Campsites, cabins, Kartchner Caverns tours, ramadas and group sites are all limited.

Q: When will I be able to make advance reservations again?
A: By July 25, 2022.

Q: How will I know how to use the new system? Will it be different?
A: It will be a little different. Once the new system is live, you will be able to reserve online like you do today or by calling 877-MY-PARKS. A step-by-step tutorial for purchasing gift cards online is available HERE (making a reservation is similar to the steps at the beginning of the instructions covered in this tutorial).
