Join the last Family Campout of the season at Lost Dutchman State Park
November 20, 2025
PHOENIX – Arizona State Parks and Trails has added one session to its fall events with the Arizona Family Campout. Families who are beginner campers can register now for the program's last campout of the year at Lost Dutchman State Park on Dec. 6-7, 2025.
This award-winning program is ideal for families who are new to camping. Park rangers and volunteers provide guidance on safe and fun outdoor activities. All equipment is provided to camping families with their $90 registration fee, including tents, sleeping mats, lanterns, camp stoves, camp chairs, and more.
Families will learn how to camp safely and responsibly, as well as have the chance to try a variety of outdoor recreational activities like archery, mountain biking, and hiking. The program also incorporates a simple stewardship project at each campout.
"This is a great time of year to enjoy perfect weather and the beautiful scenery of Lost Dutchman State Park," said Louis Juers, Arizona Family Campout program specialist. "We're excited to bring these families out to the park to show them how to enjoy a weekend camping, try new ways to enjoy the outdoors, and have a lot of fun out in nature."
Registration covers a family of four, plus $5 per person for each additional family member. Children ages 6 and older are welcome to attend, and accessible campouts are available for people with disabilities. Additional program details, reviews from previous participants, and registration information are available at AZStateParks.com/Family.
