Arizona State Parks and Trails Announces New Fees for
Tuzigoot River Access Point in Clarkdale

February 6, 2026

PHOENIX – Arizona State Parks and Trails is announcing new day-use fees at the Tuzigoot River Access Point in the Verde River Greenway State Natural Area. These fees will help maintain the area and keep it open for visitors.

The fee, which will be $10 per vehicle, will be implemented starting March 1, 2026 after working over the past few years with the town of Clarkdale and local partners. The fee will be collected on site through a self-pay option. Visitors with the Arizona State Parks and Trails annual pass will not need to pay the fee. The National Park Service and Federal Recreation Land passes will not be accepted.

Arizona State Parks and Trails does not receive any taxpayer funding for the operation of its parks. All fees collected at the more than 30 parks across the state go directly back into staffing, operations, and maintenance. Arizona State Parks and Trails currently has an agreement with the Town of Clarkdale for upkeep at the Tuzigoot River Access Point (RAP). Past improvements have included paving Tuzigoot Road to the parking lot and also trash collection and maintenance in the area.
