Arizona State Parks and Trails and Historic Brewing Company Partner for Park-Themed Series of Seasonal Local Brews
October 3, 2024
Arizona State Parks and Trails and Historic Brewing Company announce a new partnership to bring outdoor enthusiasts and lovers of craft beer a series of new local brews inspired by state parks.
The park-themed beers will be released seasonally and a portion of the sales of these specialty brews will benefit Arizona’s state parks. The partnership is intended to engage the community with state parks, the great outdoors, and the history of Arizona.
"Partnering with Arizona State Parks and Trails is a great opportunity to showcase the things that are important in our community in Arizona, like our history,” said John Kennelly, co-founder of Kennelly Family Concepts, Inc. “The state parks do a good job of preserving the history, culture, and landmarks in Arizona. What better way to showcase that than partnering with awesome people and getting the community involved to ensure these parks stay cared for and relevant?”
The first of the park-themed brews will be released this October and can be purchased at any of Historic Brewing Company’s three restaurants and tap rooms in Williams and Flagstaff, Ariz. The beer is a Mexican lager that features the historic Kanally Ranch House at Oracle State Park in southern Arizona. Oracle State Park is a 4,000-acre wildlife refuge featuring 15 miles of trails and is Arizona's first designated International Dark Sky Park. The Kannally Ranch House showcases the lives of 1900s ranchers and artisans.
“Not only will these seasonal beers give people something to enjoy after a hike or around a campfire, but this partnership will also inspire stewardship in our parks and caring for our local outdoor spaces,” said Michelle Thompson, deputy assistant director at Arizona State Parks and Trails. “We’re delighted to partner with Historic Brewing Company on these park-themed beers and give our community a fun new way to celebrate and support our state parks.”
Historic Brewing Company and the parks are celebrating Kannally Ranch House Mexican Lager with three public events: a tasting at Tap + Bottle in Tucson on October 25, 2024; a tasting and evening of nature programming at Oracle State Park on October 26, 2024; and a morning of volunteerism and stewardship at Oracle State Park on November 2, 2024. Details and registration for these events are available at AZStateParks.com/Brew.
