Frontier Printing Press Demonstrations

Watch a knowledgeable volunteer demonstrate the Washington Hand Press used to print Arizona’s first newspaper in 1859! Your host will answer a variety of questions about hand press printing, type setting, and other aspects of this marvel of industrial engineering. Visitors will actually set type and then print small samples to take home. This event is included with park admission: $5 adult, $2 youth 7-13, children free. Ongoing Event: Children’s Garden
The children’s garden by the schoolhouse allows children of all ages to play hopscotch, marbles, and jump-rope the old-fashioned way.

Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration
Join us for an Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration, on Wednesday, July 4, 10 a.m. – Noon. Free hot dogs, nachos, watermelon and lemonade, and an assortment of activities for kids including hula hoops, bean bag and ball toss, coin guess, adobe brick making and face painting. Park admission is FREE during the event!
