Trail of the Month

Everyone has a favorite trail to hike and Arizona has some of the best hiking trails in the world — from Bright Angel Trail in the Grand Canyon to the National Scenic Arizona Trail and down south to the Guindani Trail at Kartchner Caverns. December Trail of the Month Sophie’s Flat Trail – Trail #A

Trail Length:7.1 Miles 
Elevation: 3,664 ft. Red Top & 3,064 ft. Creighton
Difficulty: Moderate
Directions: U.S. 60 to El Reco & Constellation, 3.2 mi. to Blue Tank Rd., 1-1/4 mi. to TH. Map

Trail Description:
This trail meanders through classic Sonoran desert landscape, including stands of ocotillo, saguaro, cholla and other cactus varieties.

Dramatic scenic desert and mountain vistas are visible in all directions.

This is the poster child of the Sonoran desert – all of the desert flora, scenic washes, and Red Top and Creighton peaks.
