The Moonlight Hike is among the most popular interpretive hikes at Red Rock State Park. Led by a naturalist, it gives hikers the rare opportunity to enjoy the sunset and moonrise from an overlook and return by the light of the moon, while also having the chance to learn about Sedona and its surrounding areas. Verde Valley and park history, as well as archaeology, geology, botany, and riparian wildlife information, is also offered by a knowledgeable guide. You will be asked to acknowledge the following program requirements upon registration: - Registered participants MUST arrive at our entry station AT LEAST 20 minutes before the posted program start time in order to ensure participation - This program has a minimum age of 12 years old. - No pets are allowed on the park (do not leave pets in vehicles). - A flashlight is required (preferably not your cell phone). - Close toed shoes are required. - Bring sufficient water (can be refilled at the Visitor Center). - Only registered attendees are permitted on the park after regular hours (no pick up/drop off for this program; no parties in waiting for registered attendees). Cancellation: While we do our best not to cancel hikes, the park may need to cancel the event due to inclement weather. In this case, your registration fees will be refunded. If you must cancel your registration, you can do so online by logging into AZStateParks.com/Reserve and managing your events in your profile. If canceled before 5 p.m. the day before the event, the registration fee will be refunded except for a $0.30 registration processing fee.
