Nature Journaling for Beginners

Discover the pleasure of the art of Nature Journaling! This class is designed to introduce the student to the different types and methods of keeping a Nature Journal. It will focus on documenting and drawing what is seen in the "field". No art talent is required for this class only the pleasure of recording what you see in Nature! Requirements: Participants must be 12 or older and will need to bring a journal with blank pages of their personal choice, a number two pencil and a white vinyl eraser.
Class size is limited to 15 and registration is required. Please call to reserve your spot in the class, (928) 282-6907. This class is included with regular park entrance fees, $7.00 per adult (14+) and $4.00 per youth (7-13).
Daily Guided Nature Walks at Red Rock
Every morning a volunteer naturalist leads a guided nature walk informing visitors about the different life zones of Red Rock State Park. The subjects discussed on this walk include geology, wildlife, history, archaeology, and plant life.
Every Wednesday and Saturday
Wednesday and Saturday Bird Walks
Bird enthusiasts can join a naturalist for a guided walk appropriate for beginners and advanced birders. The greatest diversity of bird species can be found in the riparian area next to Oak Creek or along the field behind the Visitor Center.
