Fort Verde State Historic Park Brings Cheer with Victorian Decorations & Other Events for the Holidays
November 29, 2016
PHOENIX - From December 3, 2016 through January 6, 2017, Fort Verde State Historic Park will be decorated with Victorian decorations for the Christmas holiday. Visitors can glance into the past and see how those who once resided at Fort Verde celebrated Christmas on the Frontier. Christmas trees and fireplace mantels will be adorned with unique Victorian decorations, while wreaths and garlands help spread the holiday cheer.
On December 3, 2016, make your own Victorian ornaments at a workshop from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A donation of your choosing is required to cover the cost of supplies. Then, come back to the Fort on December 9 and 10, 2016 and join us for candlelight tours through the historic homes along Officer's Row. Living history presentations with light refreshments will follow the tours.
Stay in Camp Verde and enjoy more activities in the Town. On December 10, peruse through the Christmas Craft Bazaar held all day on Main Street. Then in the evening, enjoy the annual Christmas parade of lights that will include the arrival of Santa Claus and his sleigh. Immediately after the parade, visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
