October 10, 2017
PHOENIX – The Arizona State Parks Foundation has launched a new website and brand, Purposeful Giving, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Arizona State Parks & Trails. The 501(c)3 nonprofit organization raises funds in support of projects to improve state parks throughout Arizona.
Purposeful Giving addresses the need to invest in our parks to preserve and sustain our outdoor recreational areas now and for the future. Purposeful Giving is recognizing something special and wanting to preserve and protect it, developing a passion, and making a commitment to help. “The strength of the system is our partnerships and people. As the stewards of the parks, we are laying a path to a sustainable future,” said Sue Black, executive director of Arizona State Parks & Trails.
In recognizing Arizona’s continued population growth and the increased demand on the parks and trails system, the Foundation exists and is authorized as a private nonprofit organization to build wide-ranging support. The Foundation is expanding its role in concert with Arizona State Parks & Trails to develop strategies for raising operating revenues, maintaining parks and trails, expanding special events, and cultivating a network of annual donors across the state.
The online fundraising campaign is focused on raising $60,000 from 60,000 people for the 60th anniversary of the parks. The Foundation has also launched Park People, an annual donor recognition program that highlights special project funding needs as well an opportunity to honor or memorialize a loved one.
The Arizona State Parks Foundation was established in 2004 for the specific mission of supporting the parks agency and has contributed more than $1 million in support of Arizona State Parks & Trails. Governed by a board of directors, the Foundation offers park patrons, visitors and annual donors tax-deductible opportunities to make a difference and support Arizona State Parks & Trails.
Arizona State Parks Foundation (ASPF) is the statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting, enhancing and advocating for Arizona's State Parks & Trails. ASPF is committed to ensure state parks and trail users affordable access to the finest possible experience while visiting Arizona's natural, cultural and recreational resources.
"Managing and conserving Arizona's natural, cultural and recreational resources for the benefit of the people, both in our parks and through our partners."
