Kartchner Caverns State Park Hosts Summer Moonlight Hikes from June through September

PHOENIX - Kartchner Caverns State Park (near Benson, Arizona) is much more than a stunning cave with the world's most diverse minerals and formations. Rangers will offer a unique hike on the Foothills Loop Trail during the full moon on select Saturdays from June through September 2016 (dates below).

Visitors should meet at 6 p.m. at the front of the Discovery Center and wear suitable clothing and shoes, bring water and a flashlight. Visitors may bring a camera and/or binoculars, but it is not necessary. The cost is the $7 per vehicle park entrance fee. A reservation is required by emaiing reservations(at)azstateparks.gov. Be sure to include contact information and number of people in the group.

WHAT: Moonlight Hike on the Foothills Loop Trail (Moderate Hike 2.5 miles long)

WHERE: Kartchner Caverns State Park - Located southeast of Tucson on Highway 90, nine miles south of Interstate 10 near Benson. 

WHEN: Saturdays: June 25; July 9; July 23; August 6; August 27; September 10 at 6 p.m.
