Celebrate Earth Day with Red Rock State Park

PHOENIX – Celebrate Earth Day at Red Rock State Park with a day of fun, educational activities for the whole family on Sunday, Apr. 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Earth Day event will give everyone the opportunity to appreciate the planet while surrounded by the stunning red rocks in Sedona. The day will include special guests, kids’ activities and games, wildlife education, a solar viewing, information booths, and hiking and outdoor fun! Events kick off at 10 a.m. with a limited number of swag bag giveaways.

Learn about animal preservation and environmental stewardship from presentations by Runnin' W Wildlife Center and their live owl ambassador, and Sonoran Reptiles and their live critters. Or join Red Rock State Park's guided nature walk at 10 a.m. or an Ethnobotany Hike at 1 p.m. (registration for this guided hike is required).

Event exhibits include the Yavapai Master Gardeners, Oak Creek Watershed Council, Keep Sedona Beautiful, The Benefactors of Red Rock State Park, and the Subaru Leave No Trace team. Attendees can enjoy the seed potting table, a children's craft area, and space to make their own clay pinch pots.

Special event pricing will be in place during the event of $4 for everyone over age 14, $2 for kids 7-13 years old and free for kids 6 and under. Kids of all ages are welcome. For more information, visit azstateparks.com/red-rock
