Get Ready to Hike! Eight4Two Challenge is back at Arizona State Parks and Trails

November 22, 2021

PHOENIX – For the second year, Arizona State Parks and Trails is calling on visitors to discover new trails in a favorite park or visit a new park during the Eight4Two Challenge!

The challenge starts on Black Friday, November 26, 2021 and runs through Monday, January 17, 2022. Everyone who hikes, walks, or bikes eight different trails in at least four different state parks will win two day-use passes, good for up to four people, along with a custom, limited-edition sticker!

People are encouraged to OptOutside during Black Friday as part of a national campaign to promote enjoyment of the great outdoors. Additionally, Arizona State Parks will once again participate in First Day Hikes on January 1, 2022 and offer free entrance for all Arizona residents on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (January 17). For information about ongoing guided hikes at the parks, visit AZStateParks.com.

Register online, then log entries and submit a photo of your adventures! Photos may be used on social media and in Arizona State Parks advertising, and everyone who completes the goal will win the prizes. Tag #AZStateParks in photos on social media, using #842AZ! Are you up for the challenge?
