Arizona State Parks & Trails is proud to host the 2018 National Association of State Park Directors (NASPD) conference in spectacular Sedona, Arizona. This event will showcase our state's diversity and wide-range of experiences, while providing networking opportunities for state park and federal agency leaders and our valued exhibitors and sponsors who support the recreation industry.

Our theme is “Be Better,” a phrase taken from the Granite Mountain Hotshots, who lost their lives battling the country's deadliest fire in 80 years. As interest in outdoor recreation rises, more people are seeking unique experiences, and our conference will celebrate this growth while providing innovative, dynamic opportunities to connect and learn. Together, we will develop creative solutions and launch new ideas for the high demand we face on operational and natural resources.

This year, plan to attend the conference with members of your team who can benefit from this atmosphere and collaborate with peers and vendors to better our parks and recreation agencies. We can “Be Better” if we work together.

Local Area Information

While you're here, we'll offer you the chance to see some of the local and statewide attractions that made Arizona a destination for more than 43 million visitors in 2016. The conference's Sedona location highlights a well-known feature of the state: the red rocks and gorgeous vistas of the north-central region.

Shopping, dining, excursions, and experiences abound in Sedona and the nearby cities of Jerome, Prescott, Payson, and Cottonwood. Plus, eight of our amazing state parks are just a short drive away. For more information on Sedona, go to VisitSedona.

To get a feel of what adventure Arizona has to offer, see the VisitArizona website.
