Hike for First Time Hikers in the Sonoran Desert
Lost Dutchman State Park
Wednesday, October 4, 2017 9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
This is an introduction to hiking in the Sonoran Desert, starting on Treasure Loop Trail and converging to Jacobs Crosscut Trail. The trail includes a short, steeper and rockier section followed by a smooth well-maintained section, giving hikers experience in both terrains. The hike is 2.5 miles with a 50-foot elevation change. Plan for a 2-hour easy hike with volunteer hiking leader, Barbara. Bring water, sun protection, and close-toed shoes or boots! Fees for guided hikes and programs are included in the park entry fee of $7 per vehicle or with your annual pass.
Arizona Family Campout Program weekends are designed for families that have little or no experience camping. We will introduce you to the great experiences you can share with your family and inspire you to continue to explore the great outdoors!
