Exporing Siphon Draw

Lost Dutchman State Park

March 28, 2018   8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Hike the locally famous Siphon Draw trail with staff personnel all the way to the waterfall area. Along the way, we will see and discuss the remnants of an old, unsuccessful mining claim, identify strangely named rock formations, and look at layers of volcanic rock that make up this portion of the Superstition Mountains. Participants will experience an elevation change of 1030 feet during this 4.2 mile (round trip) hike through the amazingly beautiful Sonoran Desert. The hike is rated as "moderately strenuous" so we ask that participants bring a snack and plenty of water for their adventure. Please meet at the trailhead.
