Miner's Day Camp

Jerome State Historic Park

Friday, June 23, 2017   9am. - 4pm.

Parents! Have your 3rd-5th Grader join us for a fun-filled day of exciting mining activities at the 100-year old Douglas Mansion.

Your little miner will learn about geology, mining history, machinery & how mining benefits our everyday lives.

Reservations are required and there is a $25 per student  fee, which includes:

All activities/materials, and a full-day of supervision from State Parks Rangers.

Day Camp Itinerary:

  9:30am. -  Morning geology hike (3 miles)

11:00 am. -  Museum scavenger hunt

12:00pm. -  Lunch

  1:00pm. -  Stamp mill demonstration

  1:30pm. -  Ore cars

  2:00pm. -  Geology activities

  3:00pm. -  Mining experiments

  3:30pm. -  Reclamation activity

  4:00pm. -  Pick up

While your kiddo is having a great day at the park, spend the day visiting shops and restaurants in Jerome or in nearby Clarkdale or Cottonwood.
