Star Party at Homolovi State Park

Homolovi State Park

August 11, 2018   Sunset

Join us at Homolovi’s Visitor Center Museum and Observatory for a night under the stars! Paul Beier, Regent's Professor for NAU's School of Forestry, will also give a presentation on "Effects of Artificial Night Lighting on Terrestrial Mammals." Dr. Beier is an avid wildlife conservationist with 30 years working on science-based design of wildlife corridors.

Free with admission, Star Parties offer a family friendly atmosphere that allows all participants to view celestial objects (planets, nebulas, stars) through a variety of telescopes. Dress warmly and be prepared to experience a sense of wonder!

Notice: If the event is cancelled due to weather, it will be re-scheduled the following Saturday.

Solar viewing on Sunday depending on solar flares and solar storm. To be announced.
