Colonel's Daughter/Little Britches & Petticoat Contes
Young women from the Camp Verde area compete in poise and horsemanship for a set of spurs and the title of "Colonel's Daughter," inspired by the 1882 novel by Capt. Charles E. King.

Fort Verde State Historic Park celebrates Fort Verde Days with a flag-raising and lowering ceremony, living history presentations with the Buffalo Soldiers and Indian Wars period re-enactors, special presentations, a fashion show, cavalry drills and a vintage baseball game.
