The Wild Side of Fool Hollow Nature Hike

Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area

August 17, 2018   9:00 a.m.

Enjoy a short, rugged hike down into Show Low Creek! This hike looks at the "The Wild Side of Fool Hollow," and includes points of interest (and some surprises) concerning the forest, habitat, riparian zone, wildlife, and history. Wild views of Show Low Creek and its canyon are a highlight of the hike!

This nature hike is about one mile in total length, and follows a rocky, narrow, undeveloped trail with some short, steep ups and downs along the creek. Participants should plan to meet at the amphitheater on the east side of the lake. From the park entrance, take Fools Hollow Road east and follow it around the lake until you reach the three-way intersection, then turn left/west. Parking for the amphitheater is on the north side of the road. Please remember to bring water, sun protection, and dress appropriately for the weather. Admission to the park is free for nature hike participants.

For more information, call the park staff at (928) 537-3680 or US Forest Service at (928) 368-2100. We look forward to seeing you!
