Dead Horse Ranch State Park, located in Cottonwood, Arizona, will celebrate its 29th annual Verde River Day on Saturday, September 29, 2018. Park entrance fees will be waived for all visitors attending the event. All of the activities are at no cost, thanks to the many exhibitors and sponsors.
Verde River Day promotes preservation and care of the environment by showcasing informative exhibits on the Verde's unique riparian habitat.
All day events and fun things to do include a kids' corner, sandcastle building, a raffle, canoe and kayak rides, a fishing clinic from 8 a.m. to noon, climbing wall, and a volcano slide and obstacle course.
A pancake breakfast will be served along with other snacks and goodies like Sno Cones, hamburgers and hotdogs, pulled pork, corn on the cob, and turkey legs.
Verde River Day was organized in 1988 to promote awareness of the Verde River's distinctive riparian habitat, where 85 percent of all wildlife in the area looks for sustenance.

10th Annual Walkin' on Main
The Verde Valley celebrates Historic 89A with the 10th Annual "Walkin' on Main" on November 10th, 2018. Art exhibits, retail vendors, and interactive displays will accompany the charming galleries, shops, and local restaurants of Old Town Cottonwood.
