Sunday Guided Hikes in September

Explore the beauty of the Catalina foothills in southern Arizona on a beautiful Sunday morning guided hike. Take an invigorating 6-mile trek alongside our guide Gaston, who will take you through the park and beyond!

  • September 2 - "The Park's Best Short Trails Loop"
    Meet at the park's main trailhead (in the parking lot near the two small buildings). Return to the main trailhead by using one of the short trails. 6-mile hike, 300' elevation gain
     
  • September 16 - "Fifty-Year Trail"
    Meet at the Equestrian Center trailhead (please inquire at the entrance for directions, if necessary). An easy hike along an old jeep road leaving from the Equestrian Center. Return using a different pleasant trail. 6-mile hike, 350' elevation gain
     
  • September 30 - "Cabin & Sutherland Trail Loop"
    Meet at the main trailhead in the parking lot hear the two buildings. Take the Nature Trail and follow Sutherland Wash to the "stone cabin" at the north end of the park. Return on the Sutherland and Canyon Loop trails. Parts of this hike are on Arizona State Land. 6-mile hike, 500' elevation gain

Consult the website to learn of hiking routes.  Please register by 4 PM Saturday prior to the hike at [email protected].  For safety reasons, four hikers are required for a hike to occur. As hikes depart promptly, please arrive 5 minutes early.  If rain threatens, the guide will phone the registered hiker ASAP or about one hour before the scheduled hike time, whichever comes first.  Please inform the guide of any medical condition, medication, or allergy to Aspirin.
