(Phoenix, Arizona - October 11, 2013) - The Visitor/Nature Center at Patagonia Lake State Park will open for the season on Friday, October 18, 2013 and will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Thursdays through Mondays. The popular pontoon boat tours will start on Saturday, October 19 with avian boat tours at 8:45 a.m. &10 a.m.; a lake discovery tour at 11:15 a.m.; and varied start times for the twilight boat tour.
Boat tours are held each Saturday and Sunday but do not operate on select dates so visitors should call the park to confirm. The cost for each one-hour boat trip is $5 per person, in addition to the park entrance fee. Reservations are required for boat tours and can be made starting on October 15, 2013 by calling (520) 287-2791. If you are going on a boat trip, plan to arrive at the Visitor Center 15 minutes prior to departure to sign in, pay and be outfitted with a life jacket.
Bird walks will begin on Friday, October 18 at 9 a.m. and are held at the Birding Kiosk at the east end of the campground each Friday during the season. Bird walks are free with regular the park entrance fee or an Annual State Park Pass. There is no pre-registration. Walks generally last about two to three hours and follow the birding trail at the east end of the lake, including the mesquite bosque and the cottonwood-willow riparian area along Sonoita Creek.

Patagonia Lake State Park is located in southeastern Arizona at 400 Patagonia Lake Road in Patagonia, Arizona. The park entrance fee starts at $10 for vehicles with up to 4 adults. The camping fees are $17 for a non-electric or tent camping site and start at $25 for electric or RV sites.
