Volunteers Needed at Yuma Quartermaster Depot State Historic Park

(Phoenix, Arizona - February 11, 2009) - Yuma Quartermaster Depot State Historic Park invites interested volunteers to an "Introduction to Volunteering" informational session on Sunday, February 22, 2009, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. in the park's visitor center.

The volunteers will assist with grounds maintenance and giving guided tours. The informational session will primarily consist of an introduction to the park's volunteer program, but will also include a discussion of the park's history and its services.

Yuma Quartermaster Depot State Historic Park is a historic, day-use park that features five of the original buildings from the Yuma Quartermaster Depot, which served as an army supply depot between 1864-1883. Exhibits explore both the military history of the site and the early irrigation history of Yuma.
