Volunteers Make Photography Classes Popular at Boyce Thompson Arboretum State Park

(Phoenix, Arizona - January 3, 2009) - Thanks to the generous donation of time from Arizona State Park volunteers, photography classes at Boyce Thompson Arboretum State Park have become very popular. Throughout the year, professional photographers Maggie Leef, Timm Chapman, Tom Boggan and Joann West donate their time in the classroom and during tours through the Arboretum gardens.

They keep their photo workshops fun and very affordable. Classroom instruction and "on-the-job-training" in the gardens is both educational and a rewarding experience.

Basic photography classes can cost as little as $22.50 for non-annual members, and just $15 for annual members. Advanced, specific topics such as outdoor flash techniques and Photoshop Tips and Tricks may begin at $35.

Upcoming classes at the Arboretum:

"Texture Walk" with Timm Chapman, January 17 from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm
$15 for members, $22.50 for non-members. Chapman will lead 12 photographers through the Arboretum's Cactus Garden while discussing techniques and offering tips about improving composition and capitalizing on textures and patterns found in nature. Class intended for photographers familiar with their camera's operation.

"Nature and Wildlife Photography" with Maggie Leef, February 18 from 8:30 am until 11:30 am
