(Phoenix, Arizona - September 17, 2008) - Artist Sharon Sieben paints to capture the beauty of Boyce Thompson Arboretum State Park and the surrounding Sonoran Desert. Her works will be featured at the Arboretum's Visitor's Gallery during the month of October.
"The Southwest provides an abundance of scenery, interesting people and glorious color," said Sieben. "The Arboretum captures the flavor of it all and is an inspirational gold mine of source material."
Sieben began painting four years ago. "That's the year my passion blossomed," she said with a smile. "Since then I've been obsessed to create and share my work with others. It's so much fun to set up an easel at the Arboretum and just paint. There's so much to paint!"
Visitors are invited to meet the guest artist at her gallery opening reception Sunday, October 5 from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.
Sieben is a member of the Mesa Arts League Board of Directors.
Boyce Thompson Arboretum State Park is located three miles west of historic Superior in the shadow of Picket Post Mountain. Exhibits in the gallery are open from 8:00am until 5:00pm every day. Phone 520-689-2723 or visit http://ag.arizona.edu/bta for more information. There is an admission charge to the park.
