Water Quality Hotline

Water QualityThe Arizona State Parks Board operates a surface water quality microbiology laboratory at Slide Rock State Park.

Samples are taken from Oak Creek and are tested for the presence of E. Coli bacteria. When present in greater numbers, E. Coli indicates that potential disease-carrying bacteria may also be present in the water.

Current conditions are available by calling (602) 542-0202 after 9 am the day you intend on coming to the park.

Oak Creek Canyon Task Force (OCCTF)

Oak Creek Canyon Task ForceSlide Rock State Park is a member of the Oak Creek Canyon Task Force (OCCTF), a non-profit watershed group with a broad based membership who dedicate themselves to protect and preserve the integrity of Oak Creek and the Canyon environment. It is founded on the principle that a voluntary association of members of the watershed communities, working together to understand both the watershed and each other, best accomplishes its goals and objectives. Oak Creek Canyon and its unique waterway is such a valuable resource that volunteers spend countless hours on projects to keep the Canyon beautiful and its waterways safe for future generations.
